Getting To Know Jewellery By Rebecca

Today we’re going to help you get to know a little bit more about the maker behind Jewellery By Rebecca and her gorgeous products we know you’ve been tempted by.

Rebecca’s husband is originally from Folkestone and they both moved back here in 2013 and in 2017 she took a silvery smithing class right here in the Folkestone Creative Quarter which started her love of jewellery making.

As with a number of our talented merchants, Rebecca started by making gifts just for friends and family from her dining room table. Whilst she’s still working from that same table, she now has an incredible collection of handmade necklaces and earrings available on our site which you may have seen already (if not, go and have a look!).

Rebecca’s jewellery uses a variety of techniques for her sterling silver jewellery including enamelled jewellery on copper, fine silver metal clay jewellery and most recently sterling silver and resin jewellery.

We love the Jewellery By Rebecca collection and the variety in there, particularly the Busy Bee necklace which Rebecca gave us some insight into the inspiration behind it - “What inspired me to make this necklace was when I first fired the yellow enamel powder it came out as a honey yellow colour so it reminded me of honey comb so I added the bee. Plus I love bees and bee related things.”.

The necklace is an 18mm by 22mm honey yellow copper hexagon with enamel torch fired on with a sterling silver bee on the 18” sterling silver chain. It’s a one off piece, as with all of Rebecca’s jewellery, so grab it while you can or check out her other bee inspired honeycomb necklace which is part of her collection.
