Getting To Know Lucy Hunter Illustrations
I’d like to introduce you to Lucy Hunter Illustration (@lucyhunterillustration) who is a merchant we are very pleased to have listed on the site.
Folkestone has been a constant part of Lucy’s life, having grown up here, she’s been an active part of the community having been given multiple creative opportunities through work and with local creative companies. Lucy is currently at university in Dorset but cannot wait to move back to the area when she’s finished her studies.
As is the case for many of us, the Harbour Arm is one of her favourite places to be in Folkestone, “with its food stalls, classic seaside views and statement lighthouse - what more could you want?!”. We couldn’t agree more!
If you’ve not been down to The Harbour Arm on a Sunday, you should go down there for the local market, you’ll see a number of our merchants there!
She also loves “being surrounded by pieces of triennial installations and the creative quarter reminds me of what a triumphant creative community we have, and that’s something I’m proud to be a part of.”
Art has always been a passion for Lucy which fuelled her to study illustration (which she’s been actively practicing for 5 years now) once she left school where she’s found her love of gouache as a medium to express her vibrant ideas. We love Lucy’s art, including the beautiful lemon branch print below thanks to the gorgeous colour combos.
During her time studying and honing her craft, Lucy has found that her art has changed a lot and she’s excited to keep growing and evolving it in the future, incorporating new techniques, styles textures etc. We can’t wait!
